In the energy sector, the value of shot peening is increasingly recognised: components need to last as long as possible. For a German global player, Straaltechniek International developed a fully automatic shot peening machine that meets all requirements, with an uptime of 98%.

The requirements

• An extremely controlled shot peening method with high reproducibility
• Maximum productivity: the highest possible uptime percentage
• Environmental requirements such as noise reduction: a maximum of 76 dB(A)

The solution

One cabin, 6 nozzles and an optimised loading system ensure a continuous process. Specially developed software keeps the distance between nozzle and workpiece consistently in line with the preset parameters.

The peening media is recovered and classified fully automatically, so that it is used efficiently and effectively. Process control and visualisation are available throughout the entire process and are recorded in real time.

The result

Thanks to many years of close collaboration with this client, the machine meets all requirements. The result is a fully automated machine for continuous production with an uptime of no less than 98%.
