A Swedish company that develops and manufactures customised aluminium extrusions and components invested in a new factory. For cleaning its extrusion dies, Straaltechniek International delivered a compact, customised turnkey shot blasting machine.

The challenge

Part of the process is cleaning the extrusion dies after lye treatment. The customer wanted ergonomic handling and minimal impact on the profile and wear of the dies.

The solution

Straaltechniek delivered a customised turnkey machine with a special control panel for ergonomic handling. Frequency inverters and a special blasting media, also supplied by Straaltechniek, keep profile change and wear on the dies to a minimum.

One GN wheel blasts the media at very high speed. The media is recovered at the bottom of the machine and made reusable by a small elevator and cleaning system, while dust extraction keeps the blast cabin clean.
