A metal preservation company in the Benelux needed a durable, customised blasting solution at short notice. Straaltechniek International designed, built and installed a feed-through overhead conveyor wheel blasting machine and a blast cabinet for two operators, turnkey within 12 weeks.

The solution
The wheel blasting machine has 12 GN shot blast wheels. Their unique forward-curved blades give maximum ejection speed with an optimal flow of blasting media. The feed-through opening is 80 cm wide and 250 cm high, and the machine is 9 metres long.
The machine is part of a fully integrated overhead conveyor system. It carries steel profiles from the loading station through the wheel blasting machine, then through the powder coating booth to the oven and the unloading station.
The blast cabinet
The blast cabinet contains the dust in several stages. Products leave the blasting zone on the conveyor, ready for the operators to handle.
