Why blast die-cast parts
Shot or grit blasting prepares die-cast surfaces for treatments such as glass or ceramic coating, electroplating, galvanising and welding, or serves as the final finish. It has a double benefit: it improves the surface stress condition, which extends the life of the part, and it adds the roughness that coatings need to adhere properly.
The challenge
Parts come in countless sizes and shapes. Depending on size, shape and production rate, blasting by hand quickly becomes impractical.
The solution
Products hang on the overhead rail system and pass through a specially designed blast cabin, where 14 patented GN wheels blast them continuously. GN wheels have a proven track record of up to 10 times longer life and reach very high ejection velocities.
The result
The machine raised the production rate by 45% and increased efficiency by more than 70%.
